Sesame Workshop is hosting its 17th annual benefit gala, to celebrate 50 years of helping kids everywhere grow smarter, stronger, and kinder. The event will honor former First Lady Michelle Obama with the Joan Ganz Cooney Award for her dedication to positively impacting and improving the lives of children around the world.
Sesame Workshop is the nonprofit media and educational organization behind Sesame Street, the pioneering television show that has been reaching and teaching children since 1969. For 50 years, Sesame Street has been a place where monsters, birds, grouches, and humans have all lived together, a place where everyone has always been treated with dignity and respect.
